Found Image Self Portrait

Self portrait created in Photoshop from found images.
Questions:

1. What was the initial inspiration for your self-portrait?
The inspiration for my self portrait came from the images of Raoul Hausmann I wanted a sort of vintage/gothic feel and for the pictures to look as if they were cut out of a magazine.

2. Why did you choose the images that used in your self-portrait?
I chose images that represented  my features and personality (such as the film glasses and lollipop lips), or were aesthetically pleasing (like the gears)

3. What was your plan of attack in terms of the layout/composition of your self-portrait?
I followed the basic shapes of a photograph of myself and placed into it images that seemed to fit the composition. I started with the outline of my body, then facial features, hair, etc. I worked on the background last and then added a few more finishing touches.

4. In retrospect, what would you change about your self-portrait to make it even more successful?
I would possibly change the background, the detail of some of the images, and the fine outlines of certain shapes in order to make it more successful.
